Gawp at these pics of a Lambo Murcielago SV in the desert

A trawl through the TG archive reveals these mega pics

  • Remember the Murcie SV? Of course you do. It was the most hardcore of all the Murcielagos, a last hurrah before it was replaced by the Aventador. A trawl through the TG archives uncovered these pics, of the time we took one to a very sandy desert. Click through for your daily dosage of mid-engined Italian excellence.

  • Wing. Available in two sizes, depending on whether you wanted outright top speed or more downforce. The difference? 212mph vs 209mph.

  • Sand. Gets everywhere.

  • In some countries it's actually illegal to paint a supercar in a modest colour.*

    *Not true in any way.

  • The mid-mounted V12 gave 661bhp and 487lb ft. Lambo claimed 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

  • Price? When new it was £220K or thereabouts in the UK. Seems like good value - a new Aventador is loads more.

  • This one has paddles, but you could have a proper manual if you wanted. We did want. Very much.

  • 12-cylinders and an 8,500rpm readline means this car sounds just as good as you think it does. Maybe even better.
