Published: 14 Feb 2011

It's been a wait, has it not? The new McLaren supercar - some 13 years after the end of the F1 - has come among us.

It produces 592bhp and 443lb ft of torque. All the horsepowers come at 7,000rpm, while the torque sits between 3,000 and 7,000rpm.

It has a dry weight of 1,336kg, or 1,301kg with ‘lightweight options' (ie, telling your rotund comrade to ‘take the bus'). It produces 279g/km of CO2; the 458, since you didn't ask, produces 307g/km.

Top speed sits at 205mph, and the acceleration/deceleration times are thus: 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds (3.1s with ‘Corsa' tyre option), 0-124mph in 9.1 seconds (8.9 with Corsas), standing quarter mile in 10.9 seconds (at 134mph), 124mph-0 in 403ft and 62mph-0 in 100ft. The 458, since you didn't ask, hits 62mph in 3.4 seconds.

You will know those figures come courtesy of a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 redlining at 8,500rpm, made of aluminium and positioned longitudinally. It's also RWD, in case you're wondering.

Prices start at £168,500. Now, memorise these numbers, and start playing Top Trumps...
