Lamborghini LP560 news - Video clip: drifting with the Gallardo - 2008

This advert for the new Lamborghini LP560 (or the new Gallardo, to those of you still in old money) is very close to being seriously awesome.

All the ingredients are there for one of the great adverts of all time: a pair of shimmering Italian supercars, stunning cityscapes, greasy roads and a driver well versed in the art of drifting (a guy called Sam Hubinette, if you're taking notes - the man employed by many a tyre company to do the burning rubber shots on their commercials). 

Oh, and a host of lovely ladies just dying to throw their phone numbers at you. Hardly a subtle message, really - Drive A Gallardo And All The Attractive Women On The Street Will Want To Fornicate With You - but you've got to admire Lambo's wholehearted devotion to political incorrectness.

But there's just one thing missing. The noise of the Gallardo's 5.2-litre V10 screaming through the tunnels of Los Angeles. 

To compensate, you could always adopt the Top Gear approach of adding your own vrooming soundtrack. Or just watch the last ten seconds of this brilliant Batman trailer.
