Lambo Super Trofeo rolls into Blighty

You know the European Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo? The one that's the fastest one-make four-wheel drive GT series... in the world? It's on this weekend! At Silverstone! Huzzah!

Silverstone is the second meet in the six-race series, which sees the lightweighterized, fastified, permanent four-wheel driverated 570hp Gallardo LP 560-4 take on the world's snazzier circuits, including Monza and the Nürburgring.

There'll be 58 drivers from 14 different nations competing, including newcomers Lamborghini Racing Team UK. And what it lacks in imaginative naming ability, it makes up for in youth - it's just announced that Welsh GT racer, 18 year-old Jake Rattenbury, will fill one of the driving seats.

Mike Edmonds, M.D. and Team Principal, says: " Iʼm very pleased that we have been able to seal the deal for the Gallardo. The car will be a big step up from the Ginetta that Jake has been driving recently though Iʼm confident that it wonʼt be too big a step too soon. Heʼs a quick young driver and someone weʼve long had an interest in and Iʼm sure that heʼll get all the assistance and advice he needs."
