HSV ClubSport R8 Tourer news - VXR8 Estate? - 2008

Strewth. This is the HSV ClubSport R8 Tourer. If that doesn't mean a whole lot to you, let's put it another way: the Vauxhall VXR8 Estate.

See, as you probably knew, the mental V8-powered VXR8 is an Aussie-built Holden, rebadged and shipped to our shores in big reinforced crates filled with Fosters and kangaroo meat.

And now the Aussies have stuck a boot on the HSV ClubSport R8. Same 425bhp 'LS3' V8 engine, same ooh-look-I'm sideways rear-wheel drive.

But with added stowage space and, perhaps more worryingly, a bunch more weight strung out back. Because it wasn't exactly tail-unhappy before.

The good news is that it'll cost you a mere 65,000 Aussie dollars - just over 30 grand in British poundlets. The bad news is that there's no word that it'll reach these shores in Vauxhall VXR8 Estate guise. Boo.

Vauxhall, just do it. We'll annoy you with grating Aussie accents until you do. Maaaate...
