Google exec buys Ferrari 599XX Evo
Up there, standing in the picture in the yellow t-shirt, is a man named Benjamin Sloss. Benjamin Sloss works for something called a ‘Google'. And he has just coughed up many Euros to secure the slidey services of that very special and very yellow Ferrari 599.
But it is no ordinary Ferrari 599. It is a Ferrari 599XX Evo - y'know, The One With The Really Big DRS-Style Wing - that was offered up in a unique auction hosted by Maranello to help raise funds for the families of victims of the recent Italian earthquakes.
Mr Sloss is, in his own words, a "confirmed horsepower junkie", and picked up the super-exclusive Ferrari 599 over the weekend while a little race was taking place at Monza. Something called the ‘Italian Grand Prix', we believe. Apparently, it's a bit of a big deal...
On hand to unveil his prized purchase and throw him the keys were none other than Scuderia drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, alongside Ferrari president Luca di Montezemelo. Sloss, a native of California, paid €1.4 million for the privilege of having a 599XX specced out with, quite simply, the coolest addition to any car... in the world: a moveable rear flap!
He got an extra treat to show off to his friends back at the Internet, too: Ferrari took a picture of him, Felipe and Fernando outside the team's motorhome. Suffice to say, he's a happy man indeed, not least because his new Ferrari now matches his t-shirt. What colour combo would you spec your 599XX Evo in?
