Geiger Ford GT news - Geiger counter - 2009

Published: 01 Dec 2009

We’ve encountered Geiger – the German tuner obsessed with American muscle, bright green paint and massive, forced-induction power – before.

Remember the 890bhp Corvette from earlier this year? Suffice to say if you like that one, you’ll like Geiger’s latest project: a bright green Ford GT with – yep, you guessed it – massive forced-induction power.

But where the Corvette got a pair of fat turbos, the Ford gets a monster supercharger to boost power from its 5.4-litre V8. A 4.0-litre supercharger, to be exact (the standard Ford GT got a pitiful 2.3-litre unit), hiking its horsepowerage to a mighty 790 – with a healthy 637lb ft for good measure.

The green machine will crack 62mph in 3.5 seconds and top out at – ready for this? – a mighty 223mph, at which point you will be able to smell noise and taste colour.

And – hell, we’d better admit this – we kinda like it. Anyone else going to join us in our guilt trip?
