Ferrari F60 news - It's the Ferrari F60! - 2007

Ferrari is pulling out all the stops for its 60th anniversary, but we can't help feeling the boys from Maranello have missed a trick.

See, for its 40th birthday, Ferrari unveiled the F40 - one of the most extreme street legal cars ever to scare millionaires witless. And for its 50th, the wraps came off the F50, which was pretty tasty too.

And for Ferrari's 60th? There's this: a special edition 612 Scaglietti called the Sessanta.

The Sessanta gets a deeply plush leather interior, 19-inch aluminium wheels and black chrome exhaust tips.

There's a three-position electrochromatic glass roof, which allows varying degrees of light to enter the cabin.

Strictly limited to 60 units, the Sessanta gets a steering wheel-mounted stop-start button and the Enzo-style F1 gearshifts.

All very nice, but it's just a Scag by Laura Ashley, sadly. Where's the F60, damn it?

That said, if the lightweight F430 promised for the Frankfurt motor show appears, we'll eat our expensively leather-bound words.
