Ferrari F430 news - Minor miracle - 2007

Published: 21 May 2007

After Hamann's last attempt to 'improve' on a factory Ferrari, we had serious reservations about the resulting 'toilet roll and sticky back plastic' body kit on the Scaglietti.

Nor did we think much of its Lamborghini LP640 effort.

However, the German firm has redeemed itself with this Ferrari F430.

It's about as subtle as a German mullet at a beer festival, but the Black Miracle, as Hamann modestly calls it, sure has presence.

Painted in matt black with the aerodynamic add-ons finished in contrasting orange, it's quite vivid. But then you spot the scissor-opening for the final styling flourish. There are also lowered springs and 20in alloy wheels for the full effect.

To complement the looks, Hamann has upped engine power by 50bhp to 540bhp by fiddling with the engine's ECU electronic brain.

With that sort of power, at least you'll be going too fast to notice if people approve of the colour scheme or not.
