At one point, the 458's racing brakes are glowing red-hot and look ready to burst into flames, potentially injuring the driver and the watching few, clearly showing that the 458 would be severely over the public road speed limit.

An anonymous source close to where the torture was being conducted, who refuses to be named because he probably doesn't exist, had this to say: "It's madness. I nearly died from the sound of that high-revving V8. Somebody should put a stop to this needless torture". The source later confessed to TopGear.com that he "loves lamp".

There have been no complaints, but nearby homeowners are said to be 'thrilled' by the sound.

The Ferrari 458 Challenge is a 'racing' version of the standard car. It uses racer brakes and 'high-strength' lightweight materials which are totally unsuitable for the public highway.
