Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport news - Bugatti plays Bargain Hunt - 2008
Earlier this week we brought you news of Bugatti's topless (yet over the top) Veyron Grand Sport. It's basically the mad hyper-car without a roof, but it costs a whopping £150,000 extra.
For some wealthy folk though, that just isn't enough. Step forward the winning bidder in the Pebble Beach auction of the first Grand Sport off the production line - the lucky spendthrift paid over half a million quid extra for the pleasure of owning chassis #1.
That's not the only privilege their £1.71 million brings - the super-rich bidder also gets to work with Bugatti to tweak the car's specifications. Time to install something more useful than that umbrella then, perhaps?
Before you tut and sigh about it all, or hatch some wild plans to key the side of Grand Sport numero uno, it'd be good to mention that the extra loot went to charity. Everyone's a winner.
