Artega GT news - Frankfurt fallout: the Artega GT - 2007
Wow. This is the Artega GT, a dinky, mid-engined sports car designed by Danish legend Henrik Fisk.
OK, so we brought you news about it a month ago, but having seen it in the metal at Frankfurt and procured a bunch of new photos (and details) off Artega, we just wanted to share the sheer wowness of the GT with you.
It really is a stunning car: one TG staffer in Frankfurt said that if the rumoured new Ferrari Dino looks half as good, the motoring world would go into meltdown.
A few figures, just to refresh your memory: the GT is powered by a VW-sourced 3.6-litre V6, which develops around 300bhp.
While that might sound like a relatively modest output, the GT weighs in at just 1,100kg, which means it'll hit 62mph in just under five seconds and not top out until 169mph.
That sylphlike kerbweight is down to the GT's aluminium spaceframe, clad in carbon fibre.
Things stay just as modern inside the cabin, with a paddle-shift DSG gearbox and plenty of kit on board, including a reversing camera, 10-inch colour display and a neat little seatbelt-mounted microphone.
But it's all about the looks, and what looks they are. Is the GT even more handsome than Fisker's previous personal best, the Aston V8? Decide for yourself when it hits the road early next year.
