Subaru Impreza news - Subaru offers power upgrade - 2006
If those pesky hot hatches are getting a little too close for comfort to your Subaru, the company has come up with some performance upgrades to keep the young pretenders at bay.
The new Prodrive-developed Performance Packs (PPP) are available for Impreza WRX and STi models, as well as the Forester 2.5 XT.
A reprogrammed engine management unit and sports exhaust release the inner beast, boosting power in a WRX to 270bhp and adding an extra 74lb ft of torque.
The Impreza STi's power swells to 316bhp and is enough to see off 0-62mph in just 4.8secs.
The price of all this extra power is £1,700, regardless of which model you own, and all modifications still comply with emissions law and are covered by the standard warranty.
