So how many people bought a Prius in China last year?
So what's the answer? How many people actually bought a Toyota Prius in China last year? Bear in mind this is a country with a population of over one billion people, responsible for half of all new global car growth, and the clear focus for all manufacturers over the coming decade.
The answer?
One.
That's right. According to results of new research published on The Guardian website today, one man or woman is currently driving economically and smugly around China in a very exclusive car indeed, trying to avoid being squashed under the wheels of the millions of SUVs which utterly dominate the local market.
