The new Roomster Scout is now available from £12,505. For that you get a 1.4-litre petrol-powered model with 85bhp, and should you want a 1.6-litre petrol engine or a pair of turbodiesels, be prepared to pay up to £14,050.

On top of the usual Roomster specification, the Scout gains 16-inch alloy wheels, different upholstery, roof rails, fog lights and ESP traction control.

At the same time, Skoda has announced a new entry-level Roomster model costing from £9,920. It packs a 1.2-litre petrol engine but does without the four-wheel-drive system to back up those new looks.

The Scout is on sale now in the UK, and Skoda dealerships expect the first deliveries of the new Roomster by June.
