G-Wiz to return as limited edition £574k turbocharged petrol hot hatch

Much maligned electric car set for comeback as four-cylinder restomod

Here’s TopGear.com’s roving correspondent, Cory Spondent, with his mostly incorrect exclusives from the world of motoring

The Reva G-Wiz will return as a high-performance, petrol-engined hot hatch, sources close to the project have revealed to TopGear.com.

Capitalising on the recent inexplicable trend of reviving terrible cars and reinventing them for an unsuspecting new generation, the deeply awful Noughties electric quadricycle will make a comeback as a thrusting, turbocharged pocket rocket, just as the automotive world gears up for full electrification.

Company bosses were also keen to exploit the prevalence of low volume, bespoke reincarnations of classic nameplates that cost eye-watering sums of money, and as such have priced the reborn G-Wiz at a completely arbitrary £574,578.

“The original G-Wiz was born right before the electrification boom as a pioneering electric city car with a pitiable amount of power that offered no tangible benefit to personal mobility over walking or using your bicycle or perhaps even attempting to fly.

“So finally, now that the entire automotive sphere has pivoted full scale to electrification and combustion cars will soon be outlawed, we’re going to revive this classic nameplate as an overpowered, turbocharged four-cylinder hatch for moneyed enthusiasts.

“Nobody will laugh at a G-Wiz ever again.”

Insiders revealed only 10 reborn G-Wiz cars will be made, in three trim levels: the entry-level G-Wiz, the mid-spec G-Wizzer, and the range-topping G-Wizzest.
