The Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended is really very long

LWB Ghost has the most rear legroom of ANY saloon. Except the LWB Phantom, obvs

Published: 24 Sep 2020

While the new Ghost isn’t exactly lacking in rear legroom, if you’re going to spend most of your time sat in the back you’ll want the new ‘Extended’ model, which is a whopping 170mm longer than the standard car. Rolls says it has the most rear legroom of ANY saloon short of the gigantic Phantom Extended, so even the tallest VVIPs will have space to stretch out.

Created for “a highly dynamic group of entrepreneurs” who want a “chauffeur-driven business tool for the week that can transform into a serenely comfortable and dynamic self-driven saloon at the weekend”, the LWB Ghost is mechanically identical to the regular car, of which you can read our review by clicking right here. That means it has a supremely smooth V12 with 563bhp for 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds. Not bad given it weighs 2.6 tonnes.

Inside the Extended gets the option of a reclining “Serenity Seat” like the armchairs you get on business jets, and a fridge specially developed to chill vintage and non-vintage champagnes down to their ideal temperatures (11 and six degrees respectively, in case you were wondering).

Rolls says the Ghost is the “most technologically advanced Rolls-Royce ever created”, but said that tech has “been deployed with care to reflect customer demand for a serene environment, free from unnecessary distractions”. So while it has all the kit you need to conduct your business from the back seat, it’s mercifully easy to switch-off and chill.

The regular Ghost starts at just under £250,000. No word yet on just how much money that extra 170mm of metalwork will cost you. First deliveries will be made by the end of this year.
