Stop EVERYTHING: there’s a Bugatti EB112 for sale

Now’s your chance to buy one of the three EB112s ever made

Published: 09 Dec 2021

Oh dear, it’s time to get the chequebook out again. One of the three Bugatti EB112s ever made is up for sale. And we absolutely must have it.

The Giugiaro-designed hypersaloon so nearly made it into full production in the 1990s, but Bugatti went bust as development was still ongoing. Just one car – a burgundy example with chassis #39001 – was completed at the time, but the process had begun on two more.

Thankfully, Monaco-based businessman Gildo Pallanca Pastor bought a load of old Bugatti bits in the fire sale, including EB112 chassis #39002 and #39003. He also managed to nab a couple of the EB112's 6.0-litre V12 engines, as well as the intended six-speed manual gearboxes and four-wheel drive systems. Thus, he tasked his own Monaco Racing Team with putting two more together.

Apparently chassis #39003 remains in his personal collection, and the one you see above is #39002. It’ll hit 62mph from a standstill in 4.3 seconds and will run on to a top speed of 186mph. Oh, and there’s only 2,420 miles on the clock.

It’s up for sale at German dealer Schaltkulisse, but the price is a closely guarded secret. How much do we reckon it’ll sell for folks? And just how badly do you want it?
