This Aston Martin DB5 stunt car just sold for £2.9m

Millionaires of the world, we’re sorry to say that you’ve missed out on a corking Christmas present to yourself. This brilliant Aston Martin DB5 stunt car from No Time To Die just sold for £2.9m at a Christie’s charity auction to celebrate 60 years of the James Bond films.

That’s a fair chunk of change that’ll be split between The Prince’s Trust, The Prince of Wales's Charitable Fund and three charities that support serving and former members of the UK Special Forces.

Oh, and as we found out at our Speed Week in 2020, the replica DB5s used in filming No Time To Die are an absolute riot to drive thanks to their E46 BMW M3 underpinnings, full carbon fibre body and slide-inducing hydraulic handbrake.

Plus, this one gets a rotating digital numberplate, retractable headlights with pop-out machine guns and something called ‘firing prop bomblets’. Sounds sinister. 

All that’s left then is for us to put out this plea to the new owner – please let Top Gear drive your new car. We promise we’ll go gently. Thank you kindly…
