Under the bonnet, a 150bhp 2.0-litre dCi turbodiesel now heads up the diesel engine range.

Attached to a six-speed gearbox, the 2.0 dCi manages 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds and 52.2mpg.

The 1.9 dCi turbodiesel's power grows to 130bhp and the 1.5 dCi's to 105bhp.

Renault has not confirmed prices, but expect small increases when the revised Megane goes on sale on February 1 in the UK.
