Photo of the day: a Ferrari F40 doing what it does best

Rare-as-uncooked-steak F40 GTE Evo 1 takes to the track in sunny Australia

In the baking heat of Adelaide, which is a city in the southern part of South Australia, something magical has happened. A bevy of beautiful Ferraris has descended on the old F1 circuit, including this particularly enticing F40.

This one’s the F40 GTE, which is an evolution of the famed LM spec Ferrari, minus the telltale bonnet vents of the original homologation racer.

And, for a city that’s often called ’The City of Churches’, because that’s literally the most exciting thing on offer since the Grand Prix moved to Melbourne in 1996, it’s manna from heaven.

To be honest, it’s not a particularly scenic track (let’s just say that it’s not breathing down Spa’s neck in the beauty stakes) but we’ll use any excuse to see an F40, talk about the F40 or play with a scale model of an F40 while making ‘vroom vroom’ noises.
