One-off Jag XJ concept revealed

Published: 16 Aug 2010

Jaguar is throwing the mother of all parties this year and has decked out the XJ in the automotive equivalent of the Little Black Dress.

Dubbed the Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept, this one-off was built to showcase the customisation potential of the luxury four-door.

Jag has got the ‘bling' quotient spot on, with ‘ground-hugging' front, rear and side sills, dark chrome exterior bits and 22-inch brushed black bespoke alloys for ultimate gangster chic.

Inside you get diamond-stitch suede inserts to the seats and headliner, glossed air vents, suede and leather accents around the cabin and even a bespoke Bremont clock.

Lurking underneath that muscular bonnet is a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 with 470bhp and 424lb ft of torque - not quite the 510bhp from the XFR, but quick enough to lay some serious slicks down the ‘manor.

Sure, it might be a celebration of Jag's diamond anniversary, and sure, some rich folk who enjoy selling oil might be tempted. But it also hints at what a proper, fire-breathing XJR might look like. And it looks mighty nice to us...

How would your XJR look?
