Ollie Kew
Ollie Kew is Top Gear’s Senior Road Test Editor, which is a posh way of saying he’s a professional car nerd. After a couple of years working for the opposition, Ollie’s been at TopGear since 2014, in which time he’s sailed an amphibious mid-engined SUV in a captain’s hat, slept in a Mazda MX-5 themed hotel, set the all-time electric lap record at Ferrari’s Fiorano test track and occasionally road-tested some cars.
In his eight years here, Ollie’s become TopGear’s resident stats nerd, anti-touchscreen vigilante and fierce wielder of the legendary TopGear ‘news hammer’, a mythical tool used to clobber car company executives until they spill industry secrets. He’s vehemently against the notion that ‘there’s no such thing as a bad car any more’ (there’s loads of absolute rubbish out there) and delights in treating them with the ridicule they deserve, while lauding the carmakers who dare to innovate and surprise.
Outside of sarcastic witterings laced with serious consumer advice on TopGear.com you’ll also find the occasionally award-winning Ollie presenting First Look walkarounds, First Drive reviews and feature videos on the TopGear YouTube channel, and refereeing the TopGear podcast’s fiendish quiz.
