Nissan GT-R news - GT-Rs going quick - 2008
Even though the Nissan GT-R isn't arriving on these British shores for nearly a whole year - the first ones are expected in March 2009 - that hasn't deterred those passionate about supercars from placing their orders.
Within 48 hours of that official GT-R book being open for business, 700 customer deposits have been placed for pre-order reservations, and with on-the-road prices starting at £52,900, that's no insignificant number.
In fact, to meet the demand of the GT-R, Nissan UK is having to go to bat in order to secure further volume from its production facility in Japan.
So if you fancy one, you'd better be quick.
There are also more rumours surfacing regarding the GT-R V-Spec that's expected to appear at the end of next year. A power boost from the standard 480bhp to around 550bhp is likely, while at the same time Godzilla will be put on a strict diet that will see it shed around 330 pounds, likely thanks to a liberal use of carbon fibre.
So it's going to be impressive. But let's face it, the standard one is hardly shabby.
