The Toyota Supra from ‘The Fast & the Furious’ just sold for $550k
Another stunt Supra – driven by the late Paul Walker – is now a half-million dollar car
A Toyota Supra that starred in The Fast and the Furious has sold at auction for a whopping $550,000.
The orange Supra – driven by the late Paul Walker – reached a high of over half a million dollars at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas sale. “It’s not just a Supra, it’s the Supra, one of the most legendary cars in Hollywood,” the auctioneers said. “A car that started a cultural revolution.”
It’s certainly that. This particular Supra has now reached icon status in movie car history, and this particular example was driven by Walker in the first Fast movie. It was used for a number of interior and exterior driving shots, taking a further starring role in the sequel, 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious.
It was originally built by Eddie Paul at The Shark Shop in California, and features a Lamborghini Diablo ‘candy orange’ paintjob, that famous ‘gladiator’ decal running along the side, a Bomex front spoiler and side skirts, a TRD-style bonnet and that whopping, APR aluminium rear wing. 19in motorsport wheels finish off the Supra’s aesthetic.
Underneath of course, sits Toyota’s 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six cylinder engine – here matched up to a four-speed automatic – though no mention is made of any modifications. Still fast, though.
