Top Gear magazine: the British issue, out now!

Like itchy blazers and overcooked beef, this month's Top Gear magazine has a distinctively British flavour to it. There is an E-Type successor, there is an Aston Martin, and there is a James Bond...

We kick things off with the F-Type, a car we've been waiting for Jaguar to build for just over half a century. Following the iconic E-Type - a car described by Enzo Ferrari as the "the most beautiful ever made" - will be very tough indeed. So make sure it's suitable by testing all three models to see which is the best of the breed and pitch it against the very real competition from the Germans.

Next we cross the pond to New York to meet Daniel Craig on the set of the new Range Rover Sport commercial. Quite appropriately, it was a very secretive affair... not so easy when you have to shut down the Manhattan Bridge for a few hours, but we still managed to see if the new RRS can keep up with 007.

Still stateside, we head west, to the Wild West, and take the new Aston Martin Rapide S for a spin. We start on the streets of Las Vegas, then head up to the snow-capped peaks of the Rockies, but not before a quick tour of the Nevadadesert first (in the name of journalistic integrity we thought we should cover all eventualities you might find you and your Aston in).

We visit a small village called Brixworth, in rural Northamptonshire. Not only famous for producing a decent pair of brogues, it is also the home of Mercedes-Benz AMG High Performance Powertrains, where about hundred 2.4-litre V8s emerge each year for the likes of McLaren, Force India and Mercedes itself.

After a team of injured war veterans took on the toughest race in the world, the Dakar Rally, we thought it only fair to give them a helping hand on the final stage of their journey, from Portsmouth to London.

And finally we head out to the desert once again, this time to Death Valley on a solo mission in the incredible one-man BAC Mono, with no water or weather protection. Time to get sweaty.
