'The Art of Racing in the Rain' is a film about cars and dogs
The perfect movie doesn't exi...
“The Art of Racing in the Rain is a heartfelt tale narrated by a witty and philosophical dog named Enzo,” reads the bumf.
“Enzo has gained tremendous insight into the human condition and understands that the techniques needed on the racetrack can also be used to successfully navigate the journey of life.”
Welcome, dear reader, to what could surely be the greatest film ever, the trailer located right here. We’ve always loved racing cars, and we’ve always loved dogs, but until today, we’ve had to enjoy them separately. The Art of Racing appears to be a way of consuming them together and the perfect movie for a busy, stressful world hungry for our free time.
Based on a big-selling novel of the same name, The Art of Racing stars Milo Ventimiglia and Amanda Seyfried, with Kevin Costner voicing Enzo. There are BMW and Porsche racecars, a gorgeous old Ferrari and – yep – it might just be perfect. Patrick Dempsey, actor slash racer, is even in the production team.
One word of warning is that it comes from the studio behind Marley & Me, and the trailer gives us no indication that this one will be any less teary to watch.
It’s out in August. No, *you’re* crying.
