This is what 0-300mph in 4secs looks like

Top fuel drag racer straps camera to helmet, accelerates briskly. Results predictably outrageous

Ever wondered what 0-300mph in less than four seconds would look like from the driver’s seat? Well, wonder no more.

Former NHRA champ Shawn Langdon suckered a camera to his helmet at a recent running of his 10,000-odd bhp Top Fuel dragster to give us an idea of what such massive speed looks like. Fairly rapid is the answer, in case you were wondering.

Skip to two minutes in (and turn your volume right down so you aren't deafened) to see Langdon covering the 1/4mile in 3.77secs at 317mph, which as you can see looks barely survivable, let alone controllable. Comparatively, a quick road car like the Porsche 918 Spyder covers the same distance in 10secs at 145mph. Sounds a bit inadequate all of a sudden, doesn’t it?
