Wealthy folk: buy a drive in the SCG-003

SCG and Traum Motorsport's customer programme for 'gentleman racers'

Published: 09 Aug 2016

Being rich sounds like fun, doesn’t it? Especially if you’re a motorsport enthusiast, and all that’s required to go racing for real are mightily deep pockets…

And deep pockets you’ll need (probably) to take part in Traum Motorsport and Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus’s customer racing programme, which allows so-called ‘gentleman racers’ to get behind the wheel of an SCG-003 and compete in proper endurance and sprint races the world over.

There are three packages on offer – base, expert and professional. They all include car registration, insurance and delivery to the circuit, plus up to 16 crew, spare parts, fuel and tyres – it all depends on how much you’re willing to spend. Prices haven’t been released, but they will almost certainly be beyond the reach of even the moderately wealthy.

But wealth doesn’t necessarily imply talent. Just ask this Russian businessman. If TG were race stewards, we’d be keeping a very close eye on these gentleman racers to keep them from doing anything untoward.

The first race available is a round of the DMV/GTC Sprint Series at Zolder in Belgium at the beginning of September. Later races include the Dubai 24 Hours and various other GT races.

Wealthy folk of TG.com, interested?
