Watch a real-life Mario Kart overtake
The 73rd Members' Meeting at Goodwood saw a sell-out 18,000-strong crowd getting up close and personal with some of the finest race cars ever made.
A few of the weekend's drivers, however, got a little more up-close-and-personal with those race cars than they may have intended.
The machines may be works of art, but that doesn't stop the Goodwood drivers racing them in anger. That, of course, means the odd inevitable crash.
These two racers' days ended with this Mario Kart-esque collision during the Derek Bell Cup, a race that saw over thirty 1000cc Formula 3 cars from the late 1960s go wheel to spindly wheel.
Mike Scott was minding his own business in the white Brabham Ford BT28 when Paul Waine in the #10 red DeSanctis-Ford overcooked it heading into the right-hander, launching into the air and over his rival's head.
It would have been made for a spectacular overtake, if only the landing hadn't destroyed Waine's suspension...
