Watch Jenson Button and David Coulthard race Rallycross

Our good friends over at BBC Sport F1 have kindly shared this most excellent little clip. For your delectation: Jenson Button vs David Coulthard, in a spot of Rallycross.

Yep, JB ditches the McLaren company car for a day (probably not a bad idea at the moment) and instead goes hunting for DC in a 600bhp modified Volkswagen Beetle Rallycross car.

It’s a bit of a special moment for Jenson too; his late father John Button used to race in Rallycross in the 1970s but gave it all up so Jenson could build his own racing career. Yep, a proper gent.

So, here’s the 2009 Formula One world champion – that’s Button – taking on BBC F1’s David Coulthard (himself a former Williams, McLaren and Red Bull F1 driver) go toe to toe at Lydden Hill.
