Video: Kris Meeke is an ice-driving god

Published: 13 Feb 2015

Kris Meeke is a Northern Irish driver best known for attempting to wrestle a Bentley Continental around a Welsh rally stage while ignoring James May's distracting and incorrect pace notes.

But when he's not politely asking Captain Slow to shut up, Kris also competes for upstart race outfit ‘Citroen' in a minor rally series called the ‘WRC'.

This weekend, the WRC circus is in Sweden, which is in northern Europe, which is, at this time of year, really quite snowy. And icy.

Luckily Mr Meeke, as this rather nifty onboard video demonstrates, is quite adept at driving on snow and ice. Testing at night in his DS3 WRC, Kris demonstrates frankly superhuman car control to squeeze the Citroen between snowbanks at dizzying pace. Pointing forwards? Overrated, it seems.

Impressive stuff, Kris. Keep up this good work, and we might even give you a shot in our home-built Hyundai rally car...
