Video: how not to launch a drag bike

Watch a supercharged motorcycle spectacularly buckaroo its rider into the air

Published: 08 Apr 2016

Laxatives come in many forms. But if Senokot isn’t working for you, we’ve found something else that’s sure to do the trick: a wild drag bike unexpectedly giving you all of its boost at once.

Just ask Comp Bike Champion, Brett Ghedina. At last weekend’s Maximum Thrust Grand Final at the Perth Motorplex, Kwinana, he went to launch his supercharged Honda CBR motorcycle down the strip. But it went quite horribly wrong, very, very quickly.

A wiring issue on his boost controller meant the full whack of the bonkers bike came in all at once. With no wheelie bar and a super sticky steamroller tyre at the back, the bike went cartwheeling into the atmosphere sending the Aussie rider skywards.

Luckily, considering the hefty bike went 70ft in the air, the only injury Brett suffered was a bruised knee. The bike didn’t fare so well. As after a 15-year tenure, it’s now been sent to the big scrapper in the sky. Boo.
