Stop what you're doing and watch this Nürburgring on-board lap

We’re hedging our bets on the fact you have eight minutes spare. Eight minutes and 22 seconds, in fact.

Whether there’s a lull in your working from home schedule, you’re waiting for your tea to brew (8m22s is a good amount of time for a really strong cuppa), or you’re trying to fend off boredom and frustration in a queue at the fuel station, let the video above fill the gap.

It’s a driver’s-eye view – specifically the view of Alessio Picariello – thanks to a helmet cam inside the starkly liveried Falken Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R, as it thunders around the Nordschleife at race seven of the Nürburgring Endurance Series a couple of weeks ago.

It’s an on-board lap of the ‘Ring not with a marketing-led lap record as its aim, but race victory, this being captured during the practice session. Did Picariello’s team go on to win? Well, we shan’t spoil it. For should that petrol queue stretch to several hours, you can watch the whole race here…
