Some highlights from Rally Sweden
Over the weekend the nomadic pack of banging, popping and screeching rally cars made their way to Nordic country of Sweden for the second round of this year's WRC.
Spectators sat in the woods with their reindeer sandwiches and video cameras to catch some of the best moments, and here are just three.
First up, you can see Henning Solberg using every last drop of commitment from his huge he-spheres. Then watch Thierry Neuville put Section 2 of the Clarkson POWWWEERRRRR act into full use as he shows how a heavy right foot can prevent imminent danger. Finally, check out this year's contestants giving it all they've got over Colin's Crest on the Vargåsen stage of the rally.
Conditions were tricky as temperatures sank to minus 30 degrees centigrade combined with a lack of snow. This meant when the cars ran the stages for the second time, loose stones and gravel would rip the freshly sharpened studs right out of out of the tyres and spit them at the crowds. But the Scandanivans are a hard bunch, so kept on shouting, blowing Viking horns and eating reindeer regardless.
At the end of the weekend Jari-Matti Latvala was left standing at the top of the podium while last year's WRC champ, Sebastien Loeb, finished a disappointing sixth (but still maintained his championship lead). Next up, Mexico.
Why can't we see this on proper TV over the weekend? Can someone at the WRC please get their act together?
