Ride onboard Merc's Le Mans winner

Published: 29 Jul 2014

Mercedes-Benz headlined this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, and decided to bring down some fine supporting acts to woo the assembled motorsport enthusiasts. One of you which you can watch below.

It's 360-degree footage of the Sauber-Mercedes C9 Group C Prototype, and quite simply, is one of the best sounds you are likely to hear today. Unless you own a C9, and can actually drive it in real life. Then yes, that's better.

Simply tap the video above to start, and you can drag your cursor around to see the C9 fire up the hill in all its 5.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 glory. Don't forget, the C9 won the 1989 24hrs of Le Mans, along with victories in all but one of the 1989 Sportscar Champ series. It's quite a Thing.

There are more 360 degree vids for you to peruse, too, including footage of the glorious W125 racer going up the hill at Goodwood. And a while ago, we did a 360 degree vid with the Stig showing an SLS Black the right way around our track. It was nice.
