Nissan GT-R news - GT-R, the memories - 2007
Nissan isn't going to launch the new GT-R quietly.
We've already seen disguised prototypes of the new Godzilla climbing the Goodwood hill and duking it out around the Nurburgring with a Porsche 911.
And now, with the production car due to be unveiled at the Toyko show next month, Nissan has launched a website to remind us of its Skyline's glorious 40-year heritage.
Only, it's not the Skyline any more. Nissan has today announced that the car will just be known as the GT-R - the 'Skyline' prefix having been dropped for all world markets.
That's of no consequence, though, because the GT-R looks set to be awesome. Have a misty-eyed click through Nissan's site, and then bookmark October 24, because that's when we'll be bringing you all the details from the Tokyo launch.
The only bad news is that we won't see the GT-R in the UK until late next year. That seems a bit cruel, especially because the Japanese will get it this December. Time to get on the phone to some shady importers.
