Nissan GT-R news - GT-R drivers: big headed? - 2008

Published: 23 Jun 2008

You're one of the lucky few who was quick enough to secure yourself a new Nissan GT-R - by way of a sizeable deposit, of course.

But, because you're foolish enough to live in Europe rather than Japan, your car isn't turning up until next spring.

So what does Nissan do to placate you and your twitchy right foot? Send you a shiny GT-R-branded tape measure, that's what. Why? So you can measure your head (the thing on top of your shoulders) for a race helmet.

A race helmet that Nissan will hand to you when you turn up for your free GT-R testing session at the Nurburgring in the autumn, helping you to learn how to safely and responsibly put your new supercar sideways.

"We want to share the excitement and thrill of the GT-R with our customers," says Vincent Wijnen of Nissan GB. "To do that, we will give those GT-R customers the chance to spend some quality time with the car before they take delivery of theirs."

It is unclear whether customers will be allowed to keep the tape measure after their 'Ring session. Or whether it can be safely used to measure other body parts.
