Looks like Ferrari’s Le Mans Hypercar will get a HUGE rear wing

Ferrari’s 2023 Le Mans competitor won’t follow Peugeot’s wingless 9X8 lead…

Published: 06 Jul 2022

Last month, Ferrari gave us our first glimpse of its new Le Mans Hypercar. Frustratingly, someone had forgotten to turn the lights on in the photography studio back then, so we could only see the light signature and a small bit of front splitter.

Now though, Ferrari is proudly announcing that it has “unveiled the prototype it will use in the top class of the FIA World Endurance Championship from 2023”. The only issue? This time the photographer wasn’t given a key to the studio and had to shoot the camo’d car through a window. D'oh!

Still, at least we can now sort of see that the LMH competitor will get a ginormous rear wing. Clearly Ferrari doesn’t agree with what Peugeot is doing with its wingless 9X8.

“This is a very exciting moment, eagerly awaited both by the people who worked on this project and Ferrari fans,” said the project boss Antonello Coletta.

“Being able to touch the result of many months of work, planning, and simulations gives us new energy and motivation. We are proud of what we have achieved, and although the LMH’s masking during testing hides the car’s volumes and styling, I think it is undeniably recognisable as a Ferrari.”

At least it would have been if someone had remembered the blasted key to the studio... Thoughts, Internet?
