Latest Subaru Impreza WRC car news - Blue Mover - 2008

It's all looking a bit red on the TG homepage today, so here's some blue to mix up the palette…

It's Subaru blue - arguably as iconic as Ferrari red - and it's sprayed on the latest Impreza World Rally Car, the imaginatively titled Impreza WRC2008. The new Impreza makes its debut at the next rally of the 2008 season - the Acropolis Rally of Greece.

Subaru have said the new car is 'the most radically different Subaru World Rally Car in 15 years' and it needs to be - Subaru haven't won a WRC event in three years. Drivers Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson will be hoping for a promising run on the Acropolis (a gravel event), which starts on May 29.

The new car is based on the new Impreza road car (introduced in June 2007) and retains the trademark Subaru powertrain of a boxer turbo engine and four-wheel drive.

And, of course, that legendary metallic blue paint.
