Shaun's new wheels will be seen all around the UK, including events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Burghley Horse Trials.

The Land Rover was built to copy the car driven by The Farmer in the new Wallace & Gromit spin-off series Shaun the Sheep, which has been a runaway success on BBC1 and CBBC.

When the idea of building a real-life version of The Farmer's 4x4 was mooted, Land Rover wasted no time in drafting in top technical man Roger Crathorne.

As Roger explains: "The car is based on a Series 1 Land Rover, but is a mix of several models, using a 1951 chassis and even some panels from the latest 2007 Defender.

"It took seven weeks to finish and is now completely roadworthy."

There's nothing woolly about this Landie, and Shaun will have no reason to bleat about his new wheels.
