
Ginetta’s new GT2 car is here, and it’s got an 800bhp supercharged V8
It’ll take on the SRO GT2 Series, aided by a full-carbon body and no nonsense styling
This is Ginetta’s latest offering: a V8-powered, carbon-bodied aero freak built to compete in the SRO GT2 Series. Yikes.
It becomes the new top dog of the Ginetta stable, which has nurtured and given a platform to talents including Lando Norris, Jamie Chadwick and Isaac Hadjar. Not an ounce of slow amongst those, for sure.
Ditto this new monster. Underneath sits a dry-sumped 6.3-litre supercharged V8 with a billet aluminium block and up to 800bhp available (depending on balance of performance regs). Then comes an Xtrac LMP transaxle gearbox linked to a triple-plate clutch, Ohlins double wishbone suspension, Alcon stoppers and Pirelli slicks.
The full carbon body contributes to a total weight of 1,250kg, and the styling above it looks on point. There’s side-exit exhausts, devilishly cambered wheels and louvred body panels everywhere you look. Massive suction vents and sculpted body panels are there to send as much air as possible to that arrow straight rear wing, hunkering the GT2 to the ground.
It marks a high point for the storied racing outfit. Ginetta returned to Le Mans in 2025 after a several-year absence, competing in, and winning, a race in the Pro-Am LMP3 category in the morning of the 24 Hours. That was a first-ever victory for Ginetta at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
Its Junior Series is also hosting its largest ever number of racers this year, while US entry slots have seen a notable spike in 2025.
Now we’re just waiting for that £330k Akula hypercar to start production…
