F1 garden wins Chelsea Flower Show

Published: 22 May 2012

There's nothing like a well-trimmed bush to gee up judges at the Chelsea Flower Show. A statement supported by this; "The Williams F1 Story". It's a Formula One-themed full-scale topiary F1 car and pit crew designed by Essex-based King & Co - it just won a gold medal at the event.

Designed to celebrate the team's 35-year history, the King & Co exhibit took three years to cultivate and features a car, four pit crew, actual car parts and Bruno Senna's helmet.

Team founder, Sir Frank Williams, attended the show on Monday after celebrating the most recent Grand Prix win in Spain. Garden owner, Paul King, told BBC news "Sir Frank absolutely loved it. Seeing him smile is worth a gold medal in itself."
