You will have Opinions about this wide-body Lumma Evoque
Oh hey there, width restrictors, how we’ve missed you!
Lumma, a German tuning company, proudly describes its latest bodykit as giving the latest, second-generation Range Rover Evoque “extra class with the individualisation of a premium SUV”. Likely, you will have Opinions about this.
Welcome then, to the clumsily titled Lumma CLR RE: a “masculine wide-body design”. Woah boy, there’s a lot to take in here. Quite literally, because Lumma’s €8,270 kit has beefed out Land Rover’s best-selling SUV with 45mm of additional width on either side via wheel arch extensions. That’s front and back. Width restrictors are currently wagging their tails in anticipation. If they had tails.
Complementing the shoulder-barge look is a new front spoiler, new door sills, a new rear apron with air intakes, and a “race-look” rear diffuser. The whole lot is made out of polyurethane injection moulds, and it comes ready primed. Oh, the glamour.
Because the arches are so far away from where they originally started, Lumma has inserted wheel spacers to accommodate 22in light alloy wheels. You can already see from these pictures that the car appears to sit quite low, but Lumma is currently testing even lower-set suspension.
There are other options – different grille, rear spoiler lip and so forth – along with an individually designed interior (floor mats, aluminium pedals, lots of leather), though none beef up the powertrain. Which could be a mistake.
What say ye?
