Mountune has squeezed 256bhp out of the Puma ST...
...and Fiesta ST. Little fast Fords get faster with a British tuning boost
Mountune’s spent four decades making Fords go faster down rally stages, around racing circuits, and along roads. It hasn’t tuned up many crossovers in that time though… until now. Yep, the rambunctious Ford Puma ST has had the Essex workshop treatment.
The British tuning firm’s announced two new kits for the go-faster mini-SUV. The m235 pack ups power from 197bhp to 232bhp (235PS), while the m260 pack takes power up to 256bhp (yep, 260PS). Punchy. That’s Toyota GR Yaris territory…
While the m260 pack requires fitment of a new induction kit, charge pipe kit, and intercooler, the m235 is merely a Bluetooth diagnostics dongle reflash away. You can turn the power back to standard simply using a smartphone app. Handy if you need to pop into the main dealer for your service, perhaps…
And yes, if you prefer your B-road thrills sat a little closer to said road, the kits are both available for the superb Fiesta ST as well. No word on how much quicker they are off the line, but thanks to the extra muscle and a more aggressive launch control calibration, 0-62mph in under six seconds is there for the taking, if you can shift fast enough.
The two kits are priced at a reasonable £575 and £675 respectively, but if you already added Mountune’s m225 kit, you can upgrade to the m260 kit for £99.
If this doesn’t make you want a crossover, we suspect nothing will.
