How to tune your Transit van

Ah, the Ford Transit. Beloved of White Van Man, traditionally served with a rolled-up newspaper on the dash and the gentle whiff of B&H.

But not at the SEMA tuner show. Ford has descended upon this year's Las Vegas mod-fest with not one, not two, but nine hopped-up Transit Connects. And there's not a copy of the Daily Star in sight.

As SEMA demands, the tuned Trannies boast lots of gold, huge alloy wheels, lowered suspension and a plethora of liveries to make you the envy of - or object of ridicule at - the building site.

The idea, apparently, is to showcase the ‘versatility' of the new Transit Connect van, though for some reason not one of these concepts has a roll of carpet poking precariously through a rope-tied rear door.

Ford tells us the Mobsteel Transit "is ready to hit the street as a hot rod delivery vehicle". Inside, there's a wood-grain floor that jettisons out the back. Wheels are custom, if you hadn't guessed.

Pentech Automotive has created a gamer's paradise: two driving sims have been nestled in the back of this Transit.

Strange Motion's Transit has been designed for its BMX team: there's space for six bikes, and the humans required to operate said bikes.

Oh, and one final Transit will be revealed at the show itself, so keep your eyes peeled...
