Hennessy has supercharged the Ford F-150 to a blistering 764bhp
The fastest pick-up in the west? Quite likely
Hennessy has been tinkering again. This time, the Texan high-performance modification outfit has created the Venom 775. Based on a Ford F-150 pick-up, this latest project sees a 3.0-litre supercharger team up with a 5.0-litre V8 engine, taking the F-150's already respectable 394bhp to a jacked 764bhp. Woah.
Note that 764bhp translates to 775hp in a different currency, hence the name. The brand tells us it's given the Venom 775 a raft of upgrades, including an air-to-water intercooler, upgraded fuel injectors and a high-flow air induction system.
Together they work to generate 727 lb ft torque and deliver a 0-60mph of 3.6 seconds. Planning on quarter-miling your pick-up? That'll take just 11.9s of your time.
Such numbers put the Venom 775 up with the McLaren 765 LT in terms of power and a fair bit ahead of the mighty RAM 1500 TRX, sadly in its final days of production.
Four 20in alloys fitted with beastly off-road blackcircles and an upgraded suspension system raise the clearance height of the truck by another six inches. In typical style, illuminated Venom badges identify the model apart from the basic factory finished F-150s.
Production's limited to 250 units annually. Boss John Hennessey, said: "The Venom 775 is the ultimate sleeper pickup truck, with more than enough power to embarrass stock TRX and Raptor R owners.
"Our upgrade delivers phenomenal performance, both on- and off-road, without compromising the F-150's legendary capabilities. It's compatible with premium trim levels, so there's no conceding luxury, either."
