Gemballa Panamera news - Flashing the Pan' - 2009

It was never going to take long. Gemballa – the German tuning firm responsible for that Premiership-spec gold Carrera GT has got its hands on the Porsche Panamera.

The result is called the Mistrale – it’s a cold French wind, so read what you will into that – and, er, we don’t know much about it.

We can tell you for certain that it’ll get big wheels – 22-inchers, we reckon – and a snouty new front clip with lots of holes. But you’ve already figured that out for yourself, because you have eyes.

It doesn't look worse though, does it?

What we don’t know is how much power the Mistrale would have. An educated guess puts it in the region of ‘lots’. Gemballa, remember, can squeeze 670bhp from the Carrera GT’s 5.7-litre V10 without batting a Teutonic eyelid, so tweaking up the 500bhp Panamera Turbo should prove no problem.

So how much quicker could James and Richard have made it from one end of the British Isles to the other in one of these? Time for a rematch against that pesky letter, we think…
