Finally, the mad V8 Land Rover Defender pickup is here
And you’ve now the Heritage or Urban Edition to choose from…
Last year, we brought you renders of the Heritage Customs Valiance Pickup, essentially a Defender 130 with a portion of the roof chopped off and a pickup bed added out back. Today, we’ve got even better news: it lives in the REAL WORLD.
Check out those pictures above, people. Now simply called the Heritage Edition, it’s based on the Defender 130 X Dynamic SE and gets a 419bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 under the bonnet… and with that bed out back it’s a wicked looking thing.
Looks remarkably similar to the renders we saw last year too – “authentically classic” in the words of its maker – and while it’s lost the spare wheel on the roof (shame) it does now go without the garish HERITAGE branding on the tailgate.
We’ve now got pics of the interior too, complete with tan upholstery, though of course you can choose any colour you like. You want the tan upholstery.
But wait, because a tie-up with another coachbuilder, Urban Automotive, has also resulted in… the Urban Edition. And while we’ve only renders of this one, it’s safe to say you wouldn’t want to come face to face with it in a dark alley.
If only because you’ll likely be blinded by the lightstrip on the roof. “Unmistakingly commanding” – you can say that again – is the theme, with it set to make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2026.
No word on price yet, but last year we were told a conversion would set you back a total of €155,000 excluding VAT (around £157k all in). Worth it for the ultimate Land Rover Defender pickup?
