Check out Manthey-Racing’s hardcore Porsche Cayman GT4
Fancy your 718 GT4 with even more track bias? Step this way…
We’ll come right out and say it, we love Manthey-Racing’s modified Porsches. Check out Harris’ drive of the record-breaking 911 GT2 RS MR for reference.
This should be pretty good then – it’s Manthey’s take on the 718 Cayman GT4, a car we’re also quite fond of in its standard form.
Like with the GT2 RS, Manthey hasn’t given the GT4 MR any more power. Still 414bhp and 310lb ft from the 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat six isn’t half bad. Neither is 0-62mph in 4.4secs and a 188mph top speed.
What Manthey has done is set the top-spec Cayman up for track days and club racing events, using a new coilover kit, Manthey-Racing brake pads and lightweight forged alloy wheels.
There are also a few aero updates, including an additional gurney flap and new wing brackets. Oh, and Manthey will fit a protective grille set for the air intakes. How very thoughtful.
Manthey says extensive tests were carried out on various circuits as part of the development process, and we’re inclined to believe it set some fairly rapid lap times.
What do we think, Internet?
